video game consoleI think that it is safe to say that most gamers in their twenties can recall the video game consoles of yesteryear. Namely, the video game consoles that started it all, like the Super Nintendo. Or even other, more advanced video game consoles, like the Sega Genesis, or the Game Cube. But the one thing that I have seen that has really upped the ante and changed video game consoles forever is the World Wide Web. Before video game consoles had internet connectivity, multiplayer games were limited to same console play. However, with the internet around, gamers can now connect from all over the world and enjoy playing each other whenever they desire. The best part, at least in my opinion, and with exception to live, online gaming, is that the video game consoles of today can actually download vital system updates, game patches and glitch fixes from the web, via the handy mainstream servers that are provided for free from the game makers. This, as far as I am concerned, is a priceless resource for gamers everywhere today!
